The Bay Project has been involved with Kent County Council to promote

personal safety amongst the young people involved with the social scene at Herne Bay seafront on a Friday night through the S:UP Project. S:UP stands for ‘Sober Up’ and is staffed by not only The Bay Project and KCC, but also volunteers from the local churches and community. We support young people caught up in the culture of underage drinking. The S:UP project, working alongside the Police, has helped to reduce antisocial behaviour and incidences of children at risk.

The S:UP Project has been actively promoting the Alcohol Support Programme for young people, as well as promoting other youth work in the town. This has seen a rise in attendance whilst the number of young people on the streets has dropped.
